“BLUE BIENNIAL” | “BIENALA ALBASTRĂ” – Painting Exhibition
A chronicle is a subjective story and the relationship of the actor-chronicler with the world is mediated by words that carry the power to transform the personal experience into a story that transcends times and spaces, sometimes becoming reality, sometimes myth. The analogy with the artists describing their own universe is obvious – and the artist’s relationship with books, words, letters bearing multiple messages, is a symbolic theme. That is why the first edition of the Blue Biennale in Brasov, Romania, HRONICON, invites artists to debate the relationship of fine arts with the world of words.
The Blue Biennale is the result of collaboration of several institutions and organizations from Brașov, Romania, at the initiative of the Artessentia Association. A minimum of ten conventional and unconventional exhibition spaces with more than 2000 sqm. will be made available to the participating artists. This present call is for artists interested in the proposed theme, regardless of the country of origin or the technique of expression. Registration is free. The number of works that can be sent for selection is maximum three. One, two, or all three works can be selected. Images of the proposed works, in .jpg format, accompanied by a short artistic biography in English, will be sent to bienala.albastra@artessentia.ro. The quality of the submitted images can influence the outcome of the judging panel. Registration period: June 15 – July 31, 2019. The list of the accepted works will be made public on 15th of August, and the works will be sent until 30th of September. The participation fee for the artists invited to take part at the Biennale is 100 RON/ 25 EUR. The Blue Biennale will take place in Brasov, Romania, between 20th of October and 20th of November 2019.
